Xiamen Changsu is once again a long way ahead

    21 Apr 2020

World’s first 7+ m line: another milestone in the BOPA film industry

When the Chinese BOPA film pioneer and world’s largest producer Xiamen Changsu makes an investment, the industry listens up – fully justified again. The just now ordered 2 new sequential film stretching lines from Brückner Maschinenbau which are the fastest, widest and most powerful of its kind so far: a working width of 7+m, a production speed of 340 m/min and an output of more than 2.5 tons per hour have not been achieved yet.

Management of Xiamen Changsu says: „When we decided to make this investment, we had two clear goals in our mind: lowest production costs with highest film quality at the same time. The new lines surpass our largest machines to date by 35% in speed and 50% in output. And based on our long-lasting experience with the Brückner technology we can safely assume outstanding film qualities with the finishing characteristics our customers expect.”

Phillip Chen, Managing Director Brueckner Far East is happy about the renewed collaboration: „Xiamen Changsu is one of our longest-standing customers in the BOPA business – not only in China, but worldwide. Until now, we have completed 10 joint BOPA projects successfully. Over the years our partnership was particularly innovation-friendly. Xiamen Changsu was often the first in terms of innovations such as twin-screw extrusion for BOPA or 6.6m wide simultaneous lines.“

Reinhard Priller, Sales Director Brückner Maschinenbau, adds: „The new lines also marks the latest development stage in the field of sequential PA film stretching: From 4.2 to 5.1 to 6.6 meter we now reached proud 7+ meter. And Xiamen Changsu made all these steps along with us – a strong sign of true partnership!“

The lines are to start production around end of 2021

BOPA films have a variety of exceptional properties such as puncture, impact, burst and tear resistance. Tough packaging demands, outstanding gas barrier properties, a good resistance to oils, greases, solvents and alkalis as well as freezer-suitability are perfectly covered by BOPA films. They are therefore increasingly in demand for the packaging of fatty and oily food, distilled goods, agricultural or medical products. Brückner Maschinenbau offers a proven sequential and simultaneous BOPA technology, special features such as online shrink adjustment and a superb production efficiency.
