Our customer Polivouga is growing fast – now also in BOPE
Three major investments in BO plants in six years! Our Portuguese customer Polivouga has developed in a short time into a well-known film manufacturer in our industry and is one of the fastest growing producers in Europe. After two Brückner BOPP lines, the first 8.7m wide BOPP/BOPE hybrid line worldwide is now following.
On the occasion of the K 2019, discussions were held about packaging trends and promising film applications. Already at this time it became apparent that Polivouga was considering the promising BOPE business as a possible investment scenario. Our subsequent development work with many joint trials, the positive outlook in BOPP, coupled with the high level of satisfaction from previous projects, ultimately gave the customer the confidence to take this next step with us.
The whole project has so far impressively proven that Brückner's upscaling process, i.e. the transfer of test results from laboratory scale to production plants, is much more than just a marketing slogan.
Daniel Barros, President of Polivouga Group, says: “We entered the BOPP film business with Brückner at our side – and were very successful. We now enter the BOPE film business – and follow the principle to never change a winning team.”
The family owned Polivouga Group is one of the major players within Portugal’s plastics industry. The single group companies are doing business in various fields such as agricultural and industrial films, flexible packaging solutions or plastic and paper bags or geo-membranes, with a strong export focus.
