The long-lasting partnership between Latin America’s leading film producer Oben Holding Group, Peru, and German film stretching line supplier Brückner Maschinenbau, includes co-operations in six different countries in South and Central America. Now the latest joint project has started: The first 10.4 m wide high-speed BOPP line for South America. The line will be installed in the new production plant in Barranquilla, Colombia, and is scheduled to start production at the end of 2019. It will increase Oben Holding’s local and export BOPP film capacities and will enlarge the product portfolio with the finest multilayer films.
The company’s Technical Director, Erik Sosa, says: “This new line with its high productivity will strengthen our market position. The line’s efficiency and state-of-the-art technology in combination with our market and industry knowledge will ensure a faster and better supply for the growing Colombian market as well as for other Latin American countries.” Brückner Maschinenbau’s COO Helmut Huber ads: “After highlights such as the first BOPP lines for Central America in El Salvador and a new BOPA plant in Peru, this cooperation is another milestone in our partnership. And I am glad to say that more joint projects for producing oriented films are currently being negotiated.”
Oben Holding Group produces polypropylene, polyester and nylon films used for flexible packaging, coated films for the graphic industry and thermoformed polypropylene products.
