The founding of Paul Kiefel GmbH marks the first chapter in the story of a company that would become an integral part of the Brückner Group. What began as a small mechanical engineering firm laid the foundation for decades of technological expertise in plastic processing.

Brückner Maschinenbau is founded in Siegsdorf, marking a crucial milestone. In the following decades, the company evolves from a purely manufacturing business into a global engineering firm. This development is built on its strong focus on film stretching technology.

What is now PackSys Global started life as KMK Maschinen AG, a maker of machines for laminate and extruded tubes. As such, the foundation is laid for further lines of business within today’s Brückner Group: high-quality packaging solutions.

With the inception of Brückner Far East, the company takes a visionary step into Asian markets. This decision is of immense importance for global expansion and ensures long-term customer proximity in a region of dynamic growth.

By taking over the extrusion operations of Barmag and setting up the joint venture BB Engineering with Oerlikon Barmag, the company taps into a new business segment. High-precision extrusion technologies for films, fibers, and polymers at the Remscheid site and more than 50 years of mechanical engineering expertise.

Brückner establishes itself as an innovation leader with its unique Film Stretching Technological Center in Siegsdorf. This is where new ideas take flight, are put through their paces, and enhanced in cooperation with customers – a milestone in close partnership with the industry.

With the establishment of Brückner Servtec, the Group puts its after-sales services on a more professional footing. From maintenance to modernization, the new business segment strives for long-term customer loyalty and maximum system availability.

Brückner Slovakia is established to strengthen the preassembly of film stretching systems. With this step, the Group also enters the eastern European market and optimizes internal processes.

Freilassing-based Kiefel joins the Brückner Group, contributing its expertise in thermoforming and high-frequency welding. At the same time, Brückner India heralds strategic market entry into the Indian subcontinent.

With Brückner Colombia, the Group takes its global presence into South America for the first time. Customer affinity in this emerging region is strengthened, and a further international milestone achieved.

The merger with PackSys Global makes the Brückner Group a family of companies with four independent, but closely networked, business units. New markets in tube packaging and individual packaging are opened up.

With its new headquarters in Suzhou, Brückner China solidifies its position on the Asian market. At the same time, a strong operation base is set up in North America in the form of Brückner Group USA.

With Texa and Madag Printing Systems, two companies join the Group that strengthen the Swiss market and expand the Group’s technological expertise in the fields of finishing and printing solutions.

PackSys Global acquires Combitool – a step that fosters the targeted expansion of market expertise and vertical integration depth in Europe.

With the takeovers of Bosch Sprang (Netherlands) and Mould & Matic Solutions (Austria), Kiefel further builds on its knowledge in mold making and automation. As such, Brückner invests in targeted technological synergies.

The expansion of Brückner Suzhou to form Brückner Group China represents an organizational milestone. Simultaneously, international activities are consolidated under the Kiefel umbrella brand, boosting clarity and market impact.

An amount in the high double-digit millions is poured into Brückner sites around the world. This is not just a financial measure, but also a clear commitment to growth, ongoing technological development, and global competitiveness. As such, a course is charted for sustainable progress and innovative excellence.

The merger of PackSys Global AG and Combitool AG is a strategic amalgamation of two teams of experts. Under the motto “One Company, One Brand,” areas of expertise are pooled, synergies harnessed, and the way paved for an even more impactful market presence.

With Brückner Group Asia-Pacific in Thailand, the Group expands on its Asian presence. Proximity to customers and partners in the entire Southeast Asian region.

Brückner Group GmbH becomes Brückner Group SE. The new legal form underscores the international ambitions of the Group and creates new scope for shaping the future.

The Brückner Group is growing and setting an important course for the future: In order to create new space for research and development at its headquarters in Siegsdorf, the company is relocating the pre-assembly operations of its Brückner Maschinenbau business unit to Traunreut in Upper Bavaria.
