Some information on TTR
Polyester film is the base material of choice for thermal transfer ribbons. For standard TTR, the main thickness is 4.5 microns, for some specialties it is even below, whereas certain applications use 5.7 micron film. TTR are used in bar code, fax and portable printers, ticketing machines and various ribbons. All applications are characterized by a good combination of mechanical strength, dimensional stability and thermal resistance.
